Glucosamine is an amino sugar and precursor in the synthesis of proteins and lipids in the body and major components of joint cartilage, and is commonly used for the treatment of osteoarthritis.

Found as a major component of the exoskeletons of crustaceans and in fungi.

Deficiency or depletion of glucosamine may be associated with joint and tendon problems and arthritis.

The usual recommended daily dosage for glucosamine supplementation is 1500mg per day, often in combination with other supplements such as condroitin or methylsulfonylmethane (MSM).Important interactions.
Since supplemental glucosamine is usually derived from shellfish, people who are allergic to shellfish may need to avoid it.
